Ayaan Husain is working as a Field Researcher (Waste & Sustainability Team) at Toxics Link. He has prior experience with the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Delhi, where he supported the review and update of India’s National Implementation Plan on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) under the Stockholm Convention. His work involved coordination with national stakeholders on key multilateral environmental agreements, including the Rotterdam Convention, Stockholm Convention, Global Framework on Chemicals, and Science Policy Panel processes, along with contributions to Conference of the Parties (COP) meetings, technical drafting, policy briefs, and regulatory initiatives in waste and chemicals management.
He has also worked with the Delhi Pollution Control Committee under the Government of NCT of Delhi, where he supported GRAP implementation and reporting, environmental health bulletins, seasonal action plans, and inter-departmental coordination through the Green Delhi App. His experience includes environmental inspections, OCEMS-based industrial monitoring, biomedical waste management during COVID-19 operations, and environmental compliance projects related to ETP/STP systems, anti-smog technologies, and construction-site monitoring. He has also contributed to science communication and environmental policy research with CSIR-NIScPR.
He holds a B.Tech in Environmental Engineering from Ch. Brahm Prakash Government Engineering College, Delhi and an M.Sc. in Environmental Science from Indira Gandhi National Open University, Delhi, India.
At Toxics Link, he is working on research and field-based initiatives related to waste management, circular economy, sustainability research, chemicals safety, and environmental governance.
