Abstract:  The Global Framework on Chemicals: For a Planet Free of Harm from Chemicals and Waste was adopted in Bonn, Germany at the High-level Segment of the 5th International Conference on Chemicals Management (ICCM5), in September 2023. India is also a signatory to the chemical framework adopted in Bonn. Emerging as a significant producer and consumer of chemicals, the country needs to develop a suitable roadmap for sound management of chemicals.

In this context, Toxics link organised a conference on October 17, 2024 at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. The aim was to provide a platform for stakeholders from diverse sectors to discuss strategies to mitigate the challenges and meet the commitments for advancing the implementation of the chemical framework.
