E-waste collection centres

(a) the total number of e-waste collection centres in the country, State/UT-wise;

(b) the total amount of e-waste collected through municipality and local bodies ewastecollection centres;

(c) the amount of collected e-waste which undergoes a refurbishment process and

whichundergoes recycling process, separately;

(d) the total amount of e-waste which reaches landfill, State-wise; and

(e) the steps taken by Government to increase public awareness about the proper handling and disposal of e-waste?

(a) Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has reported that at present there are around

2,808 numbers of e-waste collection centres exist in the country. State/UT-wise details of ewaste collection centers in the country are given at Annexure – I.

(b) Details on e-waste collected through municipality and local bodies e-waste collection

centres are not available. Under the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2016, Municipal & Local

bodies are not required to file any annual return with respect to E-Waste collected by them.

(c) Around 2,24,041.0 Tonnes of e-waste has been collected, dismantled and recycled

during the financial year (FY) 2019-20. This is based on annual reports submitted by 35

State Pollution Control Boards (SPCBs)/Pollution Control Committees (PCCs) to CPCB.

Further, around 19,034.275 Tonnes of e-waste has been refurbished as per the information

received from 26 SPCBs during FY 2019-20.
