WASTE-TO-ENERGY PLANT

Will the Minister of NEW AND RENEWABLE ENERGY be pleased to state:
(a) whether it is a fact that 15 MW of Waste-to-Energy plant is going to come up in Kondaveedu
village in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) the details of distribution process of energy once the plant is completed?

(a)to(c) Yes Sir, it is a fact that a 15 MW Waste-to-Energy plant has come up in Kondaveedu village
in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh. The plant developed by M/s Jindal Urban Waste Management
(Guntur) Limited has been commissioned on 1st October, 2021.
The plant is designed to scientifically process approximately 1600 TPD of Municipal Solid Waste.
M/s Jindal Urban Waste Management (Guntur) Limited has signed a Power Purchase Agreement
(PPA) with AP Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (APSPDCL) for a period of 25yrs
from the Commercial Operation Date (COD).
The generated electricity is exported to the grid through a 132/33 kV grid substation located at
Vengalayapalem, District Guntur, Andhra Pradesh.
