covid-19 relief work

Toxics Link mobilizes for COVID 19

The world is facing an unprecedented challenge with communities and economies everywhere affected by the growing COVID-19 pandemic. India, along with much of the world, is now in a lockdown state owing to the pandemic. The impact of this pandemic and the resulting lockdown isfar-reaching and probably long term, with poor and marginalized sections being hit hardest. As India fights to stay afloat amidst the COVID 19 lockdown, the urban poor and contract laborers, who are dependent on daily wages, have been the worst hit, and are faced with both hunger and fear of the disease. This vulnerable group lives hand to mouth, with very limited savings and hence any disruption of the daily income flow makes survival a huge challenge for them.

Toxics Link is reaching out to these most vulnerable groups-the ones who are facing their toughest time right now. Catering to the immediate needs of homeless and daily wage workers, we are providing hygiene kits including face maskssanitizergloves, soap and food packets, in partnership with Government of Delhi and also independently.

Awareness is key andhence we are also making efforts to make the public aware of the safety and preventive measures they must take to protect themselves against COVID 19, such as washing of hands, keeping social distance etc.

Our focus is to mitigate the sufferings of the most marginalized communities by providing relief and also to support the state in fighting the pandemic by creating awareness.

All our work on ground is being done with utmost care and we are ensuring that all hygiene and precautionary measures are being taken care of by our teams.
