The sixth session of the Intergovernmental Forum on Chemical Safety (IFCS) was held in Dakar, Senegal from 15th to 19th September 2008 where a key resolution was adopted to promote the implementation of the measures to phase out lead from lead-based paints especially in developing countries and countries with economies in transition.

 Study reveals high levels of lead in house hold dust in Delhi
A recent study conducted by Toxics Link in Delhi indicates high level of lead in house hold dust. This has serious implications especially for children who ingest the dust while playing.
Toxics Link collected samples from 57 households across all socio economic groups from six zones of Delhi. The study unravels the high presence of the heavy metal even in the safe environs of one’s house.
