Assistance for Pollution Control

Will the Minister of ENVIRONMENT, FORESTS AND CLIMATE CHANGE be pleased to state:-

(a) whether the Government has prepared/proposes to formulate any action plan to provide assistance including financial, technical or otherwise to the State Governments to control industrial and environmental pollution;

(b) if so, the details thereof; and

(c) the details of financial and technical assistance provided for this purpose during each of the last three years, State-wise?

MINISTER OF STATE (INDEPENDENT CHARGE) FOR ENVIRONMENT, FOREST AND CLIMATE CHANGE

(SHRI ANIL MADHAV DAVE)

(a) to (c) Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change is implementing a number of Schemes/Programmes/Projects for control and prevention of industrial and environmental pollution which include National River Conservation Programme (NRCP), National Plan for Conservation of Aquatic Eco-systems (NPCA), Assistance for Abatement of Pollution (AAP), Common Effluent Treatment Plants (CETPs), World Bank aided Capacity Building for Industrial Pollution Management Project (CBIPMP) and Creation of Management Structure for Hazardous Substances (CMSHS) under which financial assistance is provided to the State implementing agencies. State-wise details of the funds released during the last three years under above schemes are given at Annexure I.

Financial and Technical assistance is also provided through Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) (Annexure II).
