Vidhi is a Program Officer at Toxics Link. She works on topics related to Antimicrobial resistance (AMR), Persistent organic pollutants (POPs), and highly hazardous pesticides (HHPs).

She graduated with a Master’s degree in Ecotoxicology from the University of Koblenz-Landau and a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from Savitribai Phule Pune University. She has experience working at labs just as much as working in the field of environmental monitoring. During her academic pursuits, she worked for Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Science Research (UFZ) on a country-wide monitoring project to study the effects of Plant Protection Products(PPP) on the ecosystem. The following year, she got to work with the University of Eastern Finland (UEF) to study the effects of fungicides on the declining native European crayfish. Through it all, she gained expertise in topics under toxicology, the fate and behaviour of chemicals, and their effects on our precious ecosystem.

When she is not working on unraveling the deeply embedded chemical toxins in and around us, she likes to admire the beauty in nature. Travelling from the tall mountains of Srinagar to the backwaters of Kerala, from the archipelagos of Finland to the warm waters hitting the Croatian beach, nothing sparks more joy in her than exploring the diverse ecological landscapes.
