Yet in a short span of 20 years, they are close to extinction in South Asia and beyond.Todaytheyareclassifiedascritically?endangeredbytheInternationalUnionfor the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) as the population of vultures has declined by an alarming rate of over 99 per cent during the last two decades.
