Unsafe food But who will protect the consumer

The Consumer is hungry, both for safe food and water as well as for information about it. If anything, the year 2003 can be termed as a safe food awareness year. Never in the past has the increasingly powerful urban Indian middle class been shocked as much by what it eats and drinks. The issue equally concerns poor, undernourished consumers as well, who consume differently. And never has the media consistently done what it should have much earlier; warn consumers what about they are eating! But what next?
