Subject: FERTILIZER CONTAMINATION IN GROUNDWATER


Will the Minister of WATER RESOURCES be pleased to state:-

(a) whether according to some surveys, fertilizers used for agriculture are polluting groundwater to a large extent;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the Union Government is formulating any scheme to check the groundwater from being polluted by fertilizers; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

Subject: CONTAMINATION OF GROUND WATER


Will the Minister of WATER RESOURCES be pleased to state:-

(a) whether as per recent study conducted by Central Ground Water Board from all over Maharashtra a moderately high percentage of the ground water is not fit for drinking as well as for irrigation;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the Government has undertaken any projects to clean/filter the polluted ground water in Maharashtra during the last three years so as to provide drinking water;

(d) if so, the details thereof including the funds earmarked for the purpose during each of the last three years and the current year; and

(e) the other corrective measures taken/being taken by the Government in this regard?

(a) whether the loading of e-waste has increasing trends in the ports areas of the country;

(b) if so, the details thereof during eachof the last three years and the current year, port-wise;

(c) the manner in which load of e-waste is likely to be solved in future in the situation of increasing trends of e-waste;and

(d) the reaction of the Governmentthereto and the remedial steps taken by the Government in this regard?

(c) whether the Government has any plan to clean rivers with Public Participation;

(d) if so, the details thereof;

(e) whether the Government has sought assistance from the World Bank/International Agency for cleaning of rivers; and

Subject: BAN ON USE OF POLYTHENE BAGS


Will the Minister of ENVIRONMENT AND FORESTS be pleased to state:-

(a) the details of the policy of the Ministry in regard to putting a ban on the use of plastic carry bags in the country;

(b) whether plastic carry bags remain in use despite the imposition of a ban;

(c) if so, whether any monitoring of the same is undertaken at the ministerial level;

(d) if so, the details and the type of monitoring undertaken in this regard;

(e) whether the Ministry has any proposal to implement a uniform law across the country with regard to a ban on the plastic carry bags;

(f) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor; and

(g) the steps taken by the Government in this regard?
