Delhi hospitals phase out mercury

Following Toxics Link's report "Lurking menace: Mercury in the healthcare sector" (released in June 2004), some big hospitals in Delhi decided to get rid of the toxic mercury.

Bio-medical waste training manual now available!

Toxics Free Health Care, Toxics Link, has released a training manual titled 'Understanding and simplifying bio-medical waste management'. The manual is a comprehensive training resource to help trainers raise the awareness of hospital staff regarding bio-medical waste management. It encapsulates years' of training experience acquired by the Toxics Free Health Care team.

Training workshop on bio-medical waste held in Meerut

Toxics Link, in collaboration with Uttar Pradesh Health Systems Development Project (UPHSDP), organised a five-day training workshop, from November 29 to December 3, for four hospitals in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh (UP). The training was organised to ensure good waste management practices within the four healthcare facilities and to establish them as model facilities in terms of waste management.

Training programme conducted in Chennai

The discovery of body parts in a corporation bin generated enough stir in the city to force the pollution control authorities to sit up and take stock of the bio-medical waste situation in the city.
