Position: Fundraising Officer Location: New Delhi Last Date: 25th May 2014 Toxics Link is an environmental NGO, dedicated to bringing toxics related information into the public domain, both relating to struggles and problems at the grassroots as well as global information to the local levels. We work with other groups around the country as well as internationally in an understanding that this will help bring the experience of the ground to the fore, and lead to a more meaningful articulation of issues. Toxics Link also engages in on-the ground work especially in areas of hazardous and medical waste management, food safety and chemicals among others. Working in networks, utilizing community outreach and education, policy analysis, research, training and program development. We are also involved in a wider range of environmental issues in Delhi and outside as part of a coalition of non-governmental organizations. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: • Develop, write and implement the fundraising strategy of Toxics Link . • Identify and develop a database of national and international donor agencies relevant to the sector. • Initiate and build strategic relationships with the donor agencies. •Identify and asses funding opportunities from CSR funds of the corporate sector • Develop and lead the process of conceptualizing and writing proposals and following it up with respective agencies. • Ensure finalization of grants process and signing of contracts. •Ensure compliance to ethical norms as set out by Toxics Link management. • Represent Toxics Link in relevant forums and events. COMPETENCIES & SOFT SKILLS • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal • Fluency in written and spoken English is essential CANDIDATE PROFILE AND QUALIFICATIONS • A post graduate or MBA with minimum 5 years experience in raising funds from Corporate & Institutions (Trust & Foundations). • Experience of writing proposals and reports for the specific purpose of fundraising. • Proven analytical skills and the ability to think strategically in relation to fundraising. • An in depth understanding of funding issues in relation to NGOs work on environmental issues. • Proven track record of generating resources for NGOs.
