Recity Network Private Limited was the regional partner in this intervention who gave us the financial support in this project.
In Haryana, the Municipal Corporation of Ambala launched an awareness campaign called “OYE!Ambala” for strengthening the Municipal Solid Waste & Bio-medical waste management system. Recity Network Pvt. Ltd implemented the program and the Bio Medical Waste Management vertical was managed by Toxics Link.
Toxics Link conducted the project in 4 phases. A baseline survey was done to understand the on ground situation of BMW management practices in Ambala. This was followed by capacity building programme for the healthcare fraternity. Implementation of BMW management system in major hospitals in the city and monitoring of the hospitals was also carried out. The project managed to achieve 60% BMW segregation at source in 3 months time and was able to reach out to over 100 doctors and 650 healthcare staff involved in the biomedical waste management.
